  • Police have been getting complaints about the turkeys, but there is not much they can do.
  • 3/31, officers responded to a call for a large party at 4 Sumner Square that was blocking access to the street. Three arrests were made before the party was dispersed.

  • There are notes from the folks from St. Mary’s regarding updates from the project in the latest email from Stephen
  • It’s likely that this month’s planning and development committee will be focuses on the larger traffic concerns around the hill like issues of speed down Salcombe. 
  • Upham’s Corner Food Forest will be meeting this Saturday from 10am-noon to create a compost pile and to continue the sheet mulching project. Their official opening is in May. Students from the Everett School will be coming on their science days and they will learn about pollination and other nature-related aspects.

Love Your Block Cleanup – Saturday, April 27

We are submitting Jones Hill as part of the City’s Love Your Block neighborhood cleanup. We’ll have the tools dropped off centrally and, depending on participation, spread out as far as possible.

Earth Day Celebration – Saturday, April 27

The Fairmount/Indigo CDC Collaborative is hosting an Earth Day Celebration April 27 from 11-3 at Mary Hannon Park (across Columbia Road down Dudley Street). Find out more and RSVP here.

Taste of Dorchester – Thursday, April 25 from 6-8pm

Open Streets Dorchester – Sunday, May 5 

Family-friendly, pedestrian-focused event where more than a mile will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic to create room for community and play. More details can be found here

Boston Home Center Housing Resource Fair – Saturday April 27 from 10-12:30

The Housing Resource Fair gives you access to information about programs and resources that can help you buy a home and be a successful homeowner. During the Fair, prospective homebuyers and current homeowners can meet with mortgage lenders, real estate agents, Boston Home Center staff, the Home Center’s nonprofit partners, and other housing resource organizations.
