MBK617 invites you to their first annual POP OUT All-Star Basketball Event on September 11th, at Peter Park in South End Boston at 11AM!
As you may be aware, MBK617 (MBK617.ORG) holds events year-round to bring local youth together and provides continuing mentorship to inspire them to reach their full potential. This event will be co-hosted by a respected local lifestyle brand, FJANN, that is expanding into nonprofit work this year.
The aim of POP OUT 2021 is to transition into the school year by hosting an in-person event that demonstrates the power of community and sends a message to our youth that they have a large and ever-expanding network of support. We also want to use this as an opportunity to introduce our organization to people in the community and expand our reach to even more youth in Boston.
The POP OUT back-to-school event will feature attractions such as:
- Boys all-star game (MBK617 vs. FAJNN)
- Girls all-star game (MBK617 vs. FAJNN)
- Dunk Contest/Exhibition
- A play area for younger kids
- Live DJ & Radio Show
- Opportunities for some local Black-owned vendors to showcase their work
This is all about showing the power of community in Boston, connecting neighbors and youth, helping to revive an underutilized local park, and demonstrating support for the efforts of MBK617 and FAJNN.
